Maple Leafs' Goalie Anthony Stolarz Hospitalized After Game 1 Injury

In a dramatic turn during Game 1 of the second-round playoff series between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Florida Panthers, Leafs' goaltender Anthony Stolarz was forced to leave the game due to a head injury. The incident occurred midway through the second period when Panthers forward Sam Bennett delivered an elbow to Stolarz's head during a fly-by. Despite the apparent severity, no penalty was assessed on the play.

Following the hit, Stolarz remained in the game briefly but was visibly unwell, eventually vomiting near the bench. He was then escorted to the locker room and subsequently transported to a local hospital for evaluation. As of now, there is no official update on his condition.

Backup goaltender Joseph Woll stepped in, making 17 saves on 20 shots, helping the Maple Leafs secure a 5–4 victory and a 1–0 lead in the series. Head coach Craig Berube expressed concern over the incident, stating, "Elbow to the head. Clear as day. I'm not sure why there's not a call on it."

The Maple Leafs will look to maintain their momentum in Game 2, scheduled for Wednesday in Toronto.
