Hakimi Sends PSG to Champions League Final as Arsenal’s Brave Run Ends

Paris Saint-Germain have booked their place in the 2025 UEFA Champions League final after defeating Arsenal 2-1 in the second leg of their semi-final clash, sealing a 3-1 aggregate win. Despite a gutsy display from the Gunners, it was PSG’s experience and precision that proved decisive.

After a goalless first leg in London, all was to play for in Paris. PSG drew first blood when Bradley Barcola capitalized on Arsenal’s high defensive line, calmly slotting past David Raya to give the hosts the advantage. Arsenal responded well and kept pushing, showing the energy and confidence that has characterized their European campaign.

Martin Ødegaard’s clever flick-on found Gabriel Martinelli, who made no mistake to level the game on the night and briefly give Arsenal hope of a comeback. But PSG’s quality told once more.

Achraf Hakimi, marauding from his right-back position, sealed the deal with a powerful low finish after a swift counterattack. The Moroccan’s strike sent the Parc des Princes into a frenzy and effectively ended Arsenal’s dream.

Mikel Arteta’s side can hold their heads high. They showed courage, flair, and ambition but were ultimately undone by a PSG side determined to reach European glory under Luis Enrique.

PSG now head to Wembley for the final, chasing their first-ever Champions League title after years of heartbreak. For Arsenal, it’s a painful end but also a sign of promise—Europe’s elite now know they are back to compete.
